Osteria Condal is born from the encounter between Italian tradition and Barcelona. A contemporary Mediterranean osteria led by Paolo Casagrande, the acclaimed Michelin-starred chef based in the city, bringing the essence of Italian cuisine to one of the city’s most iconic gastronomic spaces: the former Tickets restaurant.
The visual identity is built around two custom-designed typefaces, Voreres and Condal, inspired by Barcelona’s historic typographic pavement tiles, where the names of the city’s streets could once be read.

Typography becomes one of the key assets of a flexible branding system that unfolds across the identity, menu, communications and the restaurant’s different touchpoints.
Voreres (Catalan for “pavements”) takes its inspiration from the pavement tiles found on the streets of Barcelona, documented by Frederic Perers in his book “Voreres, la memòria subtil”. We have digitised them for the first time and reinterpreted them in three styles —Display, Text Outline and Text Regular— allowing their presence to be modulated across the restaurant’s different communication materials.
Condal distils the same idea into a monospaced typeface that brings a contemporary character to the restaurant’s visual identity.
